My Sculpture

this project took forever to make, we were instructed to make 5 balls out of clay. we had to keep one as a solid ball and then take a piece out of the other 4 using the same design increasing in size, after that we had to place them in an interesting way in a box and then pour plaster over it until it hardens, after it hardened we had to carve out the clay using tools and sculpt the plaster that filled the negative space of the clay, after sculpting the plaster down to an organic shape we had to paint it with gesso and then mount it on a sanded block of wood that was painted with a mixture of cider vinegar, turpentine, and linseed oil, which smells god awful, but makes an amazing coat for the wood, after that we had to drill holes into the bottom of the sculpture and use apoxy to stick them in there, then drill holes into the wood and connect the piece to it, then the shit was finally finished
